Why breast density matters

One of the most important breast cancer risk factors and most women don’t know it

Breast density affects both your risk of breast cancer and how well mammograms work. Women with dense breasts are more likely to develop breast cancer and mammograms are more likely to miss it.

Sona helps you take control early.

  • Breast density refers to the amount of fibrous and glandular tissue compared to fat in the breast. On a scan, dense tissue appears white, just like cancer, making it harder to spot.

  • High breast density can both increase your risk of developing breast cancer and make it harder to detect cancer early using standard mammograms.
